Other Artist Introduction 

Several of these artists are known to me – either they are family including Helen Strother Fouche (my mother, ex-wife of my father, Robert Fouche), Virginia Fouche Bolton (my aunt – the sister of my father, Robert Fouche), John Fulton, and Richard Sargent (we knew both of them when we lived in Spain)

Richard “Dick” Sargent: 

I knew him through my parents when we lived in Spain, from 1976 through 1979. We traveled to Ronda, Spain, from our home in Sevilla, Spain, to visit Dick and his wife, and they came to stay with us in Sevilla at different times. The last time he was in our home, he passed away (this was 1978) while visiting us – I still remember that morning when it happened as it was sudden and unexpected.

Virginia Fouche Bolton: 

I had known my aunt Virginia (sister of my father) growing up throughout the years. When we were back in the United States, we would go to Charleston to visit my father’s mother and his sister, Virginia, and we’d always go to her art gallery. I would hang out with her five children and would spend time with her and her husband, as well. Virginia’s maiden name was Fouche – thus some of her paintings are signed Virginia Fouche Bolton. She had an art gallery in Charleston, South Carolina, for many years.

John Fulton: 

We met John Fulton for the first time at Rota naval base in Spain – we were there to purchase items from the base commissary and John was doing an art exposition next to the commissary. After that, we got to know him very well as he only lived about two miles from our home in Sevilla. We attended several of his bullfights, visited with him at his house regularly, etc. John’s art gallery was also in Sevilla, near the Giralda, which is part of the Sevilla Cathedral. 

Helen Fouche: 

My mother has been an artist all of her life – these paintings were made at different times going back to the mid-1960s when we lived in Ivory Coast, Africa (my father was a Foreign Service Office with the U.S. State Department, and was assigned to the city for three years), and through her years in the United States. Helen’s maiden name is Strother – thus there are some paintings that are signed as “Helen Strother”.

I do not know this artist – his painting was purchased by mother sometime in the last 20 years.

I do not know this artist – his painting was purchased by mother sometime in the last few decades.
